  • Use socially responsible, ethical investing practices and sound biblical financial management principles.
  • Offer competitive rates and strong financial returns.
  • Foster faithful stewardship through consulting, development, and educational services.

SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE INVESTING

UMF invests according to the Social Principles of The Book of Discipline. The UMF Board of Directors has assigned the UMF Investment Committee the task of focusing on this important aspect of the Foundation’s ministry.

The Foundation follows these guidelines with your investment dollars and strives to make a positive impact, both locally and nationwide, through investments such as the Self-Help Credit Union, headquartered in Durham, a lending institution that supports home ownership, business development and revitalization in low-wealth areas.

Additionally, the Foundation has engaged the services of Glass Lewis and Co., to guide these investment decisions. This national firm advises more than 1,000 clients made up of mutual funds and asset managers, as well as the majority of the world’s largest pension plans.

Through Socially Responsible Investing the Foundation helps you care for God’s Creation.
